Within the bounds of Lake Martin, one can find the enchanting Cypress Island Preserve. A Lot of different wildlife call this place home so you never know what you might see while out.

My wife and I recently took a weekend trip to Houston, Texas mostly to visit REI, a camping and outdoors store, since Houston has one of the closest locations to Baton Rouge. I wasn't sure what to expect when we visited the Memorial Park in the heart of Houston but it was amazing!

They say everything is bigger in Texas and this is definitely true for Big Bend National Park. For my and my wife’s anniversary we decided to check it out. The experience did not disappoint.
